IMPROVING WORKING CONDITIONS

Ocean Brands is committed to helping achieve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 8.7 (eradicating forced labour, ending modern slavery and human trafficking, and securing the prohibition of the worst forms of child labour). As part of this commitment, Ocean Brands’ suppliers must sign its Code of Conduct, which is informed by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and which includes clear expectations for responsible labour and business practices.

Ocean Brands has joined the Seafood Task Force (STF), an industry-led collaboration that brings transparency and oversight to seafood supply chains. Focused on addressing forced labour and human trafficking through traceability and accountability, STF promotes decent work for employees who fish, farm, and produce seafood.

We work to support livelihoods in coastal communities throughout the world, providing jobs, nutrition, and a model to sustain tuna fisheries and the marine environment. For many coastal communities, one-by-one fishing methods provide an opportunity to develop a profitable and socially responsible domestic fishery sector, while supporting employment, food security, traditional cultures and livelihoods.
